H.B. Hogle, 68, died Jan. 19, in Leland. He was born in Williamston on June 24, 1922, the son of J.D. and Bertha Norris Hogle. He was a veteran of WW II, a life member of the Elks Lodge of Ionia, and the Fowler V.F.W. Post #3733. He was a retired rural mail carrier of Pewamo for 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Harriet; one son, Fredrick Hogle of Pewamo; two daughters, Beth Mowatt of Muir and Julie Pung of Lansing; five grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Rogers of Sheridan; and many nieces and nephews. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. on Monday and 3 and 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the St. Marys Chapel in Westphalia. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo with the Rev. Joseph Pettit officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Berse, Jeff Bearse, Glenn Bearse, Phil Kramer, Nick Kramer and John Kramer. Memorials have been established for the St. Mary’s Chapel for St. Joseph Education Fund and the St. Joseph Parish. Arrangements are being made by the Neller Funeral Home in Portland.
