Ionia County News, 16 Sep 1965

Military graveside services for John A. Holben were held at the Portland
cemetery following the 9:30 funeral service Wednesday morning.  Mr. Holben died
Monday morning at the Grand Rapids Veterans Facility, having been a patient
there for the past year.  He had been a Portland resident for the last 20 years.
 Mr. Holben was a World War I veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Mitilda, who resides at 423 Lookingglass Avenue,
Portland; one daughter, Mrs. Juanita Bennett, LaPointe, California; four
grandchildren, two brothers; George of Pinckney and Harold of California.

Rosary was recited tonight at 8:00 p.m. at the Neller funeral home.  Burial was
from St. Patrick’s church.
