J. B. Holcomb, 70, of P.O. Box 338, Ionia, died Jan. 1 in Zephryhills, Fla. 
Born on April 19, 1916, in Easton Township, he was the son of Dey and Nina Adams
Holcomb.  He lived most of his life in the Ionia area and was married to Sylvia
Hawkins on April 19, 1941.  In February 1979 he retired from General Motors in
Grand Rapids where he had worked for 30 years.

Surviving are his wife Sylvia; four sons, Kenneth, David and Randy, all of
Ionia, and Gary of Orleans; and seven grandchildren.  Also surviving are two
sisters, Mrs. John (Beulah) Leland of Orleans and Mrs. Gerald (Neva) Tingley of
Cadillac.  He was preceded in death by a granddaughter and a sister, Reva Munn.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday from the Rich Street Chapel of
Montgomery Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.  Burial will
be in Easton Township Cemetery.
