Mr. Holcomb had been a patient at the hospital for five days. He was born in Ionia county September 13, 1873, the son of William and Emma Jenks Holcomb and had resided on a farm near Ionia most of his life. His wife Anna, preceded him in death several years ago. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Mary Johnson of Belding, Mrs. John Witzel of Lansing, Mrs. Bruce Becker of Olivet and Ms. Lewis Lowery of Muir and 25 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Myers funeral home. Interment will be in Muir cemetery. __________________________ July 31, 1954 Funeral services for Earl Holcomb, who died Tuesday at United Memorial Hospital, Greenville, were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Myers funeral home with the Rev. George Rentschler officiating. Pallbearers were Norman Ketner, Verl Ferris, Harold Seiler and Donald Seiler. Interment was in Muir cemetery. Attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Becker of Olivet, Mr. and Mrs. John Wetzel of Lansing, Mr. and Ms. Keith Emitts of Remus, Dr. Williams D. Holcomb of Grass Lake, Lillian Holcomb of Stanton, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Wandell and Mr. and Mrs. Mason Badder of Lyons.
