Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2002

Mrs. Cecil V. Holland, 90, of Ionia passed away Feb. 13, 2002 at her daughter’s 
home.

She was born the daughter of George and Clellie (Taylor) Brown on Aug. 16, 1911 
in Fenwick.  She married Marvin Holland Sr. in 1928 and he preceded her in 
death in 1965.  Cecil was a member of the Ionia Moose.

Surviving are two daughters, Katie (Jim) Emelander and Cheryl Emelander both of 
Ionia; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Holland Sr.; three sons, 
Robert, Marvin Jr., and Richard; three brothers, Fred Brown, Dexter and Rollie 
Lampman.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday from the Lincoln Avenue Baptist 
Church with Pastor Darren Tharp officiating.  Graveside services will be held 
at 2 p.m., Saturday at the Sheridan Cemetery.  Visitation is 7 p.m. to 8:30 
p.m. Friday at the Rich Street Chapel of Cook Funeral Home in Ionia.  Memorial 
contributions can be made to the wishes of the Holland family in care of Cook 
Funeral Home.
