He was born Feb. 23, 1910 in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Harry and Barbara DuBach Holland. He lived most of his life in Ionia, working 18 years at the Moose Club and 17 years at Ionia County National Bank. After retirement Lee and Dorothy moved to the newly constructed Saranac Housing Complex. The past year Lee was a resident of Heartland Health Care facility where he enjoyed socializing with residents and staff. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the Masonic Temple and was an avid reader of western novels. Sports were also a main interest all his life. He played football and baseball at Lowell High School. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Swan; one brother, Roy, a Baptist minister in Mississippi; two children, Ronald (JoAnn) Holland of Farmington Hills and Linda Ciangi of Ionia; four grandchildren, Connie, Beth, Frank III and Ronalee; two great-grandchildren, River Alexander and Francesca Lee; many nieces and nephews; and special brother-in-law, Herb Swan of Lowell. He was preceded in death by four sisters. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment will be at Balcom Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia Commission on Aging.
