J. M. Jensen of the LeValley Methodist church officiating, and assisted by Rev. Pellow of the Petoskey Methodist church. The bearers for the services were friends of Mrs. Hollister, from Big Rapids. Burial was at Big Rapids. Mrs. Hollister was born June 20, 1851, at Elgin, Ill., and came to Big Rapids with her parents when she was only a small child, on a covered wagon drawn by a team of oxen. They took up a homestead west of Big Rapids long before that part of the country was settled. She was married to Henry Hollister, and had resided in Big Rapids until four years ago when she went to Petoskey to make her home with her daughter. Mr. Hollister died about 17 years ago, and one daughter, Mrs. Eva Kreeger, of Grant, died 30 years ago. She leaves a son, Frank Hollister of Merriam, Kas.; three daughters, Mrs. James Jensen of Orange township, Ionia county; Mrs. C. M. Cook of Duluth, Minn.; and Miss Ethel Hollister of Petoskey; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
