Donald W. Holmes, 81, of Lakeview passed away March 7, 2011 in Gowen. He was 
born Jan. 26, 1930 in Saginaw, the son of John and Margaret (Gunter) Holmes. 

Donald served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the 
American Legion. 

Donald is survived by his sons, Steven Holmes of Saranac, William Holmes of 
Lakeview and Gary (Phyllis) Holmes of Lakeview; daughter, Doreen (James) Still 
of Caledonia; brother, Richard Gunter of Saranac; grandchildren, Lori, Michael, 
Christopher and Jon; and great grandchildren, Trevor and Spencer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac 
with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment Saranac Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
