The Ionia County News, Thursday, January 7, 1937
Mrs. Lillian Scribner Holmes, who passed away at her home in West Palm Beach, 
Fla., December 17, was a former resident of Orleans and will be remembered as 
prominent in the social affairs of this locality.  She was president of the 
W.C.T.U. here several years, giving her best for the betterment of the 
community.  About 20 years ago they went to Lansing where she still carried on 
in the cause of temperance, being president of one of the unions there, and 
finally county president of Ingham.

The last few years Mr. and Mrs. Holmes had made their home in Florida.  Her 
husband, Charles Holmes, survives her.
