Belding- Karen Lee Holt, 65, of Belding, passed away Thursday morning, Dec. 19, 
2013, at home under the loving care of her family and Hospice.

Karen was born on July 16, 1948, in Greenville, the only daughter of Roy and 
Barbara (Stewart) Kniss.

She graduated from Belding High School, was an active member of the Belding VFW 
Ladies Auxiliary, Humane Society and had earned a yellow belt in Ti-Kwon-do, 
enjoyed golf, playing pool and loved spending time with her family and her dog 
Max. She was married on Dec. 21, 1991, in Ionia to Dan Holt. 

Karen is loved and survived by her husband Dan and her children, Douglas J. 
Hemmes of Florida, Travis D. Carter of Belding, Garret S. Carter of Greenville, 
Carisa Raye (Carter) Thomas of Belding; her grandchildren, Calista, Zackary, 
Joshua, Noah, Hannah, Kayla, Courtney, Bradley and her many friends.

Karen was preceded by her parents.

Funeral services and committal prayers will be 1 p.m. Monday at Johnson-
Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Ken Harger officiating.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
