Vivian Ann Holther, 77, died July 20, 2013 after battling cancer. Born Oct. 31, 
1935 in Ionia, daughter of Emmett and Anita Roche, she married Karl Benjamin 
Holther Jan. 11, 1964,

Vivian served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 through 1963, retiring at HM2. She 
wished to be a mother and wife, and said her grandsons brought her more joy 
than any grandmother could expect. She volunteered at the Red Cross for years, 
and was a silent angel in many ways, wanting no recognition then or now.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and parents-in-law, Fred and Iva 
Holther; brothers, Bob Roche (Florida), and Larry Roche (Ionia); sister, June 
(Ben) Fockler (Ionia); brothers-in-law, Robert Holther (Sturgis), Donald 
Steffes and Harold Glasslee (Grayling). 

She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Karl' daughter Wendy 
Reisbig; two precious grandson, Ryan and Zane Reisbig; daughter Karen Holther; 
sister Nancy Glasslee (Grayling); sister and brothers-in-law Jessica Roche 
(Ionia), Jean Holther and Scott Trowbridge (Ann Arbor), Jean Holther (Sturgis), 
Kathy and Ken Tucker (Saranac); and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She felt blessed to have a dear relationship with her very special niece Yvonne 
(Jim) Golnick (Grayling), and left behind her special angel and dearest friend, 
Bonnie (Dan) Ferguson.

The family will hold a memorial at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 18 at West Berlin 
Wesleyan Church, 5110 Portland Road, Lake Odessa.

If desired, donations in her name should be sent to St. Jude's Children's 
Hospital or Zion Food Pantry.
