Robert E. Holtz, 76, of Portland died March 20 in Portland.  He was born in 
Portland April 4, 1914, the son of Robert and Bernice Carpenter Holtz.  

He is survived by his wife Lavina “Teedie”; two sons, Richard of Grand Ledge 
and Robert “Skip” of Potterville; one daughter, Jennie Stambaugh of Sunfield; 
eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

He was a Life Member of Portland Lodge #31 F. and A.M. and the Saladin Temple 
Shrine of Grand Rapids.

The family will be at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.  
Funeral services will be Friday, March 22 at 1:30 p.m. at the Neller Funeral 
Home in Portland, with the Rev. Stanley Finkbeiner of the Portland United 
Methodist church officiating.  Burial will be in Portland Cemetery.  Pall 
bearers will be Randy Stambaugh, Robert E. Holtz, Kevin Holtz, Jeffrey 
Thompson, Timothy Martinez, and Robert Gilbert.
