The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, July 16, 1962

Mrs. Emma B. Holtz, 70, widow of William C. Holtz, former Ionia county clerk 
who died in 1953, died at Lowell Sunday morning, following a year’s illness.  
She was born August 31, 1891, the daughter of Karl and Mary Zander and resided 
for many years on North Jefferson street in Ionia.

Mrs. Holtz was a member of St. Johns Lutheran church and Ladies auxiliary.

Surviving are a son, Harold W. Holtz of Toledo, Ohio; four grandchildren, and 
a sister, Edith Zander of Chicago.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Stone Kauffman 
funeral home.  The Rev. Theodore Timler, pastor of Ionia St. Johns Lutheran 
church will officiate and interment will be at Highland Park cemetery.
