Mr. Holtz was born in Denmark and until seven years ago, represented the Swedish government and the Dutch government in the Virgin Islands as consul. He was also president of the Bank of Denmark in the Virgin Islands. He purchased a bee farm in Ionia county in 1932 and in 1936, moved to his present home. He was secretary-treasurer of the Ionia County Beekeepers' association. He is survived by his wife, Etla; two sons, Helge Holtz, an attorney in Boston, Mass., and Henry Holtz, a junior at the University of Michigan; two daughters, Miss Elen Holtz, a public health nurse in Dotham, Ala., and Mrs. Grete Evans of Titusville, Pa. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Banfield funeral chapel, Portland. Rev. William Grey will officiate and burial will be in Portland cemetery.
