Steven Kenneth Homrich, age 50, of Saranac, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, 
July 27, 2006.

Steve is survived by his wife, Michelle; son, Rocky; daughter Melanie; 
parents, Kenneth and Helen Homrich; brothers, Ken and Cindy Homrich, David and 
Andrea Homrich.

Steve proudly served the Michigan State Police for 27 years.  He graduated 
with the 96th Recruit School and served at the Pontiac Post and Lapeer Post 
before being promoted to Sergeant at the Ionia Post.  He had also served as a 
member of the Emergency Support Team since 1987. During Steve's exemplary 
service to the Michigan State Police he received many citations, most notably 
the following: 2 Departmental Lifesaving Awards, the Meritorious Award, and 2 
Bravery Awards. Steve will be remembered as an outstanding husband, father, 
and mentor. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday at St. Paul the 
Apostle Catholic Church. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 
to 9 p.m. at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made 
to the Kevin Marshall Memorial Fund (C/O Newaygo City Offices, 28 N. State 
St., Newaygo, MI, 49337).
