Mary Jane Honsowitz, 78, of Portland passed away Feb. 4, 2004.

She was born in Lansing Nov. 28, 1925 the daughter of Martin and Victoria 
(Alexander) Honsowitz. She and her family moved to Portland in 1930.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her father, Martin in 1968; mother, Victoria 
in 1934; sisters, Alice in 1965, Lucille in  1988, Hovita in 2002; brothers, 
Martin, Jr. in 1973, Ardis in 1975 and Thomas in 1978. These family members 
shared in Mary Jane's joy, humor, companionship and generosity.

Surviving are her brother, Hugh (Betty) Honsowitz; sister, Sophia Lennemann; 
niece, Hovita (Quinton) Smith and their children, Megan, Jennifer and great 
great niece, Jordyn Smith; nephews, Scott (Tina) Conner-Wellman and their 
children, Alex and D'Laney, Tim (Becky) Wellman and Alan Hensley, Forrest 
(Nora) Wellman; brother-in-law, Forrest (Glenna) Wellman; 17 nieces and 
nephews; 41 great-nieces and nephews, 27 great-great nieces and nephews.

Services were conducted by Pastor Gregory R. Wolfe of the Portland United 
Methodist Church, Feb. 7 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland, with 
interment following at Portland Cemetery.

For bringing joy to the  lives of the people you have touched you are admired 
and honored. For all the warmth and love you have  unconditionally given-you 
will never be forgotten. A legacy to Mary Jane would be to always be sensitive 
to people with special needs.
