Made Many Friends. Roxy Hood was born in the State of New York, Gennesee Co., March 29, 1839, and departed this life March 14, 1920, at the home of her son, Albert Hood and family of Joliet, Ill., where she had gone to spend the winter. When she was but a child of two years with her parents moved to Ohio where she lived until united in marriage to William B. Hood, Dec. 21, 1854. They moved to Campbell township in 1865 settling on a farm. They resided on the farm until 1900 when death came in their home taking her husband to the better world, April 13th. To this union were born four children, three of whom are living: Mrs. Ida Sterzik of Antigo, Wis.; A. B. Hood, Joliet, Ill; Mrs. Emma Dildine of this place and eight grand children and four great grand children and a large circle of relative and friends to mourn their loss. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist church and was well liked by all who knew her.
