Hooper, age 92, of Lansing, formerly of Ionia, passed away August 30, 2004 in Lansing. He was born December 23, 1911 in Union City, Indiana the son of Harry and Kathryn (Hartzell) Hooper. Charles married Trudie Collins June 27, 1934. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ionia for 50 years where he was a past treasurer and youth leader. He was also active with the Boy Scouts. Charles is survived by his loving wife of seventy years, Trudie Hooper of Lansing; daughters Barbara Stone of Portage, Jane (Jim) Smith of Grand Ledge; grandchildren Marilyn Bohn of Paw Paw, Daniel (Colleen) Stone of Plainwell, Michael (Kim) Stone of Shelbyville, Julie Smith of Grand Rapids, Jennifer (Mike) De Waard of Holland and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday at First United Methodist Church of Ionia with Rev. Marty Culver officiating. Visitation is on Wednesday at 12 p.m. until time of service at the church. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Greenville cemetery in Greenville, Ohio.
