Hooper, 75 years of age, died at her home, 212 Cleveland street, Saturday morning, March 2, at 2:45 o’clock following an illness of nearly a year. Mrs. Hooper was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Pilgrim, and was born in New York state. She came to Michigan with her parents and settled at Marian. She was married to Fred Hooper in Ionia 50 years ago last May at which time they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Following their marriage they lived for a short time at Fallasburg then returned to Ionia 33 years ago and for the past 24 years have resided on Cleveland. Mrs. Hooper had been an active member of the Baptist church in Ionia for a number of years. She was also a member of the WRC and of the Lady Maccabees of Ionia. Surviving are her husband, Fred Hooper, five children, Mrs. Silas Husted, of Muir; Mrs. D.R. Pawson, Lansing; Mrs. Forrest Van Houten, Lansing; Louis Hooper, Grand Rapids, and Glenn Hooper, Ionia; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from the residence, 212 Cleveland street, Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock and from the Baptist church at 2:30 o’clock. Rev. F.J. Fitch, pastor of the Baptist church, will officiate. Interment will be made at the family lot at Highland Park cemetery.
