He was born in Queens, Long Island, New York, Sept. 9, 1877. He resided in Belding for five years, working at the Murray and later the Jolly Kid. January, 1949, he and his wife returned to their Bushnell farm. He was a member of the Palo Baptist church. Surviving him are the wife, the former Lena Forshee, whom he married in 1905; two sons, Harry of Marne and Evylin of Bushnell; a sister, Ella Johnson of Traverse City; and two brothers, Herman of Ionia, and Edmund of Grand Rapids. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Palo Baptist church with Dr. J. Lee Lewis of Ionia officiating. Interment will be in Bushnell cemetery.
