Michael C. Hoorman, 16, of Portland, loving son, grandson, and brother passed away on 
Dec. 7, 2009. He was born on Sept. 16, 1993 in Lima, Ohio the son of Mike and Trisha (Warren) 
Hoorman. Michael was a sophomore at Portland High School and loved attending dances at school 
and MDA camp.  He was an avid University of Michigan fan and loved football, video games, 
Elvis Presley, and his dog Harley.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell 
and Mary Warren; Great Grandma and Grandpa Niemeyer; Great Grandma and Grandpa Hoorman.
 
Surviving are his parents, Mike and Trish Hoorman of Portland; brothers, Russell, Nathan, 
and Phillip Austin; sister, Mandy Hoorman; grandparents, Gene and Ruth Hoorman; aunts, 
Jeannie (Carl) Robbennolt, Debbie Mumper, and Laurie (Tom) Hageman; uncle, Bob (Emily) 
Hoorman; several nieces nephews, and cousins.  The funeral service was held at the 
Portland Church of the Nazarene on Dec. 11 with Rev. Daniel L Stemen, officiating.  
Interment followed at Portland Cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman 
Funeral Home, Portland.  For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the 
Grand Rapids MDA, 235 Wealthy St., Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
