Phyllis Jean Hoort
GREENVILLE - Phyllis Jean Hoort, age 77 of Greenville, was received into the loving
arms of Jesus on September 24. Phyllis was a member of Faith Baptist church of Greenville.
She was a leader in Bible Sturdy Fellowship and was a living testimony to all who knew
her. She was a gifted wood carver and her beautiful handmade cards were a blessing to all who
received them. She also loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, gardening and just
being in nature. Phyllis grew up on the family farm in Portland, MI. and was a graduate of
Portland High School. She worked in the offices of ATL until her retirement. 

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, August and Jeanette Hoort, and sister
and brother-in-law Joyce and Alvin Buning. She is survived by her siblings, Mary and Bob
DeKoekkoek of Kalamazoo, Jim and Carol Hoort of Ionia, Jan DenBesten of Tucson, AZ.,
and Eileen and Henry Hofstra of Holland, Mi. and special friend, Connie VanHouten of
Greenville. She was a very special loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. 

Memorial services will be held at 2:00. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Faith Baptist Church
(315 S. Greenville West Dr., Greenville), with visitation held for one hour prior to the
service. memorial contributions can be made to Faith Baptist Church or the charity of your
choice.
