IONIA COUNTY PIONEER DEAD IN THE WEST

Finando Hoover Lived on Farm North of Ionia Until He Went to California 3 
Years Ago

Finando Hoover, who for the past three years has resided in California with 
his daughter, Mrs. Sarah Hobson, died in the Los Angeles hospital Thursday, 
and the body will be brought to Ionia, where the interment will take place in 
the Woodard Lake Cemetery, following the services at Woodaard Lake church, 
probably next Thursday, although the definite plans are not complete.  

Mr. Hoover was the son of pioneer parents, who came from the East and settled 
in Ioina county, living for a time on the State road, then in Orleans, and 
then purchased the farm now occupied by Joseph Hoover, four miles north of 
Ionia.  At the time of its purchase, Finando Hoover was a lad of eight years 
and this place remained his home until he left for the West three years ago.

Joseph Hoover is a son and with his sister, Mrs. Hobson, are the only 
children.  Their mother died 14 years ago.  He also leaves six grandchildren, 
a sister, Mrs. Vorce of Muir, and a brother David E. Hoover of Keuka, New York.

The funeral services for Finando Hoover will be held from the home of his son, 
Josheph Hoover, in Ronald Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock and from the Woodard 
Lake church at 2 o'clock, and the burial will take place in the family lot in 
the Woodard Lake cemetery.  Rev. Herbert G. Hurrel will be in charge of the 
services.
