The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, February 11, 2014


Brenda Joyce Hoover, 72, of Ionia, passed away on February 6, 2014.  She was 
born on July 21, 1941 the daughter of George and Marion (Green) Rountree. 

Mrs. Hoover retired from the Ionia Housing Commission as Executive Director.  
Brenda enjoyed golfing, spending winters in Florida, her special group of 
friends, the "Turf Terrors", and camping. 

Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Sandra Rountree; son, Cass 
Colwell.  Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Dennis Hoover of Ionia; 
children, Tammy Alberts of Ionia, Kendra (Jeff) Wenzel of Hudsonville, and Chad 
(Ann) Hoover of Stanton; grandchildren, Cody and Brady Alberts, Paige, Sydney, 
Christian, and Emma Wenzel, Cass and Lauren Hoover, and Jake Smith; great 
granddaughter, Abigail Sharrard; brother-in-law, Jeff (Lisa) Hoover; several 
nieces and nephews; special friends, The Turf Terrors. 

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, February 12, 
2014 at Lehman Funeral Homes, 220 Rich Street, Ionia.  A Prayer Service will be 
held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Shane Prewitt of 
Shiloh Community Church presiding.
