   DAVID C. HOOVER of Spring Arbor

Died Saturday January 6, 2024-age 91
Born on December 29, 1932 in Rosebush,MI on the family farm to Orcutt  Claire  & 
Salome(Smith) Hoover.
David graduated from Mt.Pleasant High School. 
Worked in a manufacturing facility in Chelsea,MI before enlisted in the Marine 
Corps in 1953 and served until 1956.
David worked in a machine shop in Chicago for a short time before working at 
Michell Bentley in Ionia,MI.
In September 1957 He married Lavonna Seiter & moved to Ionia,MI.
David worked for the State of Michigan for 38 years in the Fish Division.
David & Lavonne had two daughters, Christine & Marilyn.
Preceded in death by his parents, one brother & one sister.
Survived by his wife Lavonna (Seiter)Hoover, daughters Christine Helmes(Larry),& 
Marilyn Sleder (Ted).
Grandchildren Bobbie (Helmes) Kelley(Ryan),Charlie Sleder, Katlyn Sleder, Audrey 
Sleder. 
Great-grandchildren,Cameron Kelley, Dylan Kelley, Brooke Sleder.
One sister,Bethel Hoover & one brother, Paul Hoover & several nieces & nephews.
Visitation will take place on January 10, 2024 at Watson Funeral Chapel in 
Jackson,MI at 1:30-2:30pm and Services at 2:30 pm with Rev. Dr. Chris Dorn.
Contributions can be made in honor of David to Gentiva Foundation (Gentiva rn 
Jackson Michigan.)
David was an avid lover of Antique Tractors & Steam Engines & attend the Stea m 
Engine shows. 
A loyal University Michigan Fan.
His greatest joy was his family.
