   Excerpts from Ionia Obituary

     LAVONNA JEAN HOOVER

Died Saturday September 20, 2025-age 87 of Spring Arbor, at Arbor Manor 
Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.
Born July 16, 1938 in Clare MI, daughter of Carl & Madalene (Brooks) Seiter.
Graduate of Mt.Pleasant High School 1956.
Married David Hoover on September 14, 1957.
Lavonna was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church, Ionia, where 
she served as Elder & treasurer.
Ahe was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother.
She enjoyed travel, camping, sewing & maintaining an impeccable yard & home.
Survived by daughters, Christine(Larry) Helmes, Marilyn (Ted) Sleder, 
grandchildren Bobbie Helmes (Ryan) Kelley,Charlie Sleder (Katelyn), Audrey 
Sleder(Coby) Kegerreis, great-grandchildren Cameron Kelley, Dylan Kelley, Brooke 
Sleder & Luke Sleder; sisters Evaleen (Jackie)Hopkins, Darlene(Steve) Vagnozzi & 
several nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband,David Hoover, parents Carl Seiter & 
Madalene(Brooks Seiter) Birkmeier, & brother Wayne Seiter.
Funeral Services will be held at Lake Funeral Home-Ionia, 3521 S.State Rd., 
Ionia,Michigan on Saturday September 27, 2025 at 2:00 with Michelle Childs 
officiating.
Interment will be in Easton Township Cemetery,1084 North Johnson Rd., Belding,MI 
48809 immediately after the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Foundation (Gentiva Hospice-
Jackson) or First Presbyterian Church, Ionia.
