The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, October 29, 1957

Howard Allen Hopkins, 70, formerly of Ionia and late of Grand Rapids and 
Battle Creek, died Monday morning, October 28.  He was born March 12, 1887 in 
Palo, a son of Allen Miles Hopkins and Frances (Green) Hopkins. Mr. Hopkins 
was a veteran of World War I.

Preceded in death by his wife Mattie, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Wesley 
Snyder of Grand Rapids; a brother, Arthur Hopkins of Ionia, nieces and nephews.

The body is at Zaagman Memorial chapel, 1865 Eastern avenue, S.E., Grand 
Rapids, where funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 1:30.  
Dr. Wm. H. Pardee, professor of theology, Baptist Theological Seminary, Grand 
Rapids, will officiate.  Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in 
Oak Hill cemetery, Ionia.

The family will be at the chapel Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
