Lyons Herald, 8 Oct 1908

Wm. Hopkins was born at South Foster, Rhode Island, March 1, 1843, and died at 
his home east of Lyons October 2, 1908.  He came to Lyons in 1863 and has been a 
resident of Ionia county 45 years.  He was married to Olive O. Snyder April 5, 
1864.  No children were born to them, but he leaves to mourn his loss a wife, 
some cousins and other relatives.  Funeral services were held at the home Sunday, 
conducted by Rev. Wm. Judd.  Interment in the Lyons cemetery.
