Miss Hopkins was the daughter of John V. and Sarah H. Hopkins, who at one time resided on a farm near Maple Corners, moving from this vicinity 60 years ago. For many years after their removal the family made annual summer visits here, keeping up their acquaintances. Mrs. Sarah Hopkins was a member of the Gillette family. For a number of years Miss Hopkins had filled the position of librarian in Detroit.
