He was born April 29, 1902 east of Lyons on the farm home of his parents, Albert and myrtle Hopkins. He attended rural schools and lived for several years in Sherman, N.Y. before returning to Lyons four years ago. Surviving are six brothers, Elmer, Charles, John, James, Nathaniel and Albert all of Lyons; two sisters, Mrs. John Dumon of Big Rapids, now in Florida, and Mrs. Ford Shoen of Lyons. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Lyons Methodist church with the Rev. Robert Watt officiating. Six cousins will act as pallbearers, Horace Clements, Paul, Chester and Estel Gladding of Lyons, Harold Clements of Route 1, Ionia, Lemuel Gladding of Palo. Interment will be at Lyons cemetery.
