The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, March 2, 1943

Jerry P. Hopkins, 84, died Tuesday morning at the home of his son, David 
Hopkins, who lives north of Palo.  He was born near Portland, February 24, 
1859, and has lived all his life near Palo.

Surviving him is a son, David Hopkins; a daughter, three grandchildren.  
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Stebbins 
funeral home, Sheridan.  Rev. S. J. Hadley of Sheridan will officiate and 
burial will be in Bushnell cemetery.
