Wavel L. Hopkins, 86, of Belding, died Monday evening Aug.  11, 2008 at
Elizabeth Adult Assisted Living Center near Saranac.  Wavel was born on June 19,
1922 in Langston the daughter of William and Lena Elhert Buchholz.  She
graduated from Belding High School with the class of 1941 and was a member of
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Greenville.  She was also a member of the Ladies
Church Circle.  Wavel was married on April 28, 1945 in Greenville to William H.
Hopkins and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2000.  Wavel was also preceded
by her parents.

Wavel is survived by her children and their spouses, Carolyn (Pete) Dodd of
Canton and Gerald (Dawn) Hopkins and Ronald (Deborah) Hopkins, all of Belding. 
Wavel is also survived by seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her
sister, Arlene Hopkins of Belding and two sisters-in-law, Jean Hopkins of St.
Petersburg, Fla. and Vivian Culter of Vicksburg.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church,
Greenville with Pastor Ken Harger officiating.  Interment will be in River Ridge
Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Johnson-Feuerstein
Funeral Home, Belding.  Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul Lutheran
Church, Belding Library, Alzheimer’s Association or Heartland Hospice.
