Dick was born on Feb. 8, 1924, near Palo, the son of William E. and Rose (Enbody) Hopkins. During World War II, he proudly served in the United States Army, seeing action at Normandy and Central Europe. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, always had a nice garden and worked on the family farm. He was a past member of the Sheridan VFW. Dick is loved and survived by his children, Rocky J. Hopkins and Juanita Flick of Lyons, Joyce L. and Carl Hoag of Belding, Daniel Hopkins and Vicki Obert of Stanton, George and Peggy Gomez, Loia and Kenny Leonard, all of Lyons, Eric Obert-Hopkins of Stanton; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents; two brothers; and one sister. Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Sunny Hill Cemetery, Fenwick, with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Memorials may be given to the Sheridan VFW. Envelopes will be available at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, where funeral care has been entrusted.
