Ionia- Arlene F. Hopkins, 81, of Ionia, passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, 
in Grand Rapids.

She was born Jan. 1, 1931, in Carson City, the daughter of Henry and Loy 
(Cowell) Bonoite.

Arlene married William E. Hopkins on June 26, 1948. He preceded her in death on 
Oct. 1, 1989. She was a bartender at Rivers Inn and later worked at Gibson's. 
She was a lifetime member of Sheridan VFW and an avid bingo player.

Arlene is survived by her children, Glee McKeown and John Barber of Ionia, Kay 
MacDonald of Ionia, William (Ann) Hopkins of Fenwick, Henry (Rosa) Hopkins of 
Stanton; those she thought of as children, Cindy (Bill) Stump of Ionia, Loia 
(Ken) Leonard of Lyons, Rocky (Juanita) Hopkins of Lyons, Dan (Vickie) Hopkins 
of Stanton, Joyce (Carl) Hoag of Belding, George (Peg) Gomez of Lyons; 
grandchildren, Richard Scott Hopkins, Shannon Jerrils, Sarah Jerrils, Jodi 
Borton, Christina (John) Harsim, Billy (Carrie) Hopkins, Donald (Traci) Ledger 
Hopkins, Brian Hopkins, Eve Cusack, Buffy Ostrander, Linda (Harvey) Collins; 
brother-in-law; Chauncy (Dick) Hopkins of Fenwick, 30 great-grandchildren, 14 
great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

; two sisters, Grace Shattuck Gallup and Ella Gomez Hopkins; and one brothr, 
Clare (Hap) Bonoite.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, 1 p.m. at Church of the 
Nazarene in Ionia with Pastor Jim Wilcox officiating.

Arrangements are by Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.

Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution in Arlene's name to a charity 
of choice.
