Sentinel-Standard - Wednesday, March 26, 1975

R. D. Hopkins, 66, of 1216 Haynor road, Ionia, died of an apparent heart attack 
Tuesday at his home.

He was born in Bushnell township, Montcalm county, October 12, 1908. He was a 
retired employee of Gibson Products in Greenville and a lifelong resident of 
the Montcalm and Ionia counties area.

He was married December of 1936 at Angola, Ind., to Josephine Witzel, who 
survives.

Besides the wife he leaves two sons, Larry and Dan Hopkins of Ionia, and a 
daughter, Mrs. Prescilla Bendict of Ionia; three grandchildren and five step 
grandchildren; one great grandchild; four brothers, Albert of Belding, Lewis 
and Frank of Palo and John of Sheridan; three sisters, Mrs. Minerva Watson of 
Detroit, Mrs. Eva Minikey of Ionia and Mrs. Inez Antcliff of Sheridan.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 am at the Stebbins and Simpson funeral 
home at Sheridan. Rev. Kenneth Harger will officiate and interment will be at 
Easton cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday and Thursday from 7 until 8:30 
pm.
