Sentinel-Std. - Thursday, July 2, 1953

William E. Hopkins, 61 of near Palo, died Wednesday afternoon at the Greenville 
United Memorial hospital after being taken there following a heart attack.

Mr. Hopkins was born Jan. 27, 1892, in Bushnell township, Montcalm county. He 
was a lifelong farmer in Bushnell township.

In 1923 he married Rose Sandborn. She died in 1931. In 1942 he married Emma 
Shriner, who survives.

Other survivors are two sons, Chauncey R. of Palo and William E. of Route 2, 
Ionia; two step-sons, Clyde Sandborn of Palo and Anson Sandborn of Lansing; one 
sister, Mrs. Pearl Ralph of Ionia; two brothers, Chauncey of Palo and David of 
Muir; and seven grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be at the Stebbins funeral home in Sheridan Saturday at 2 
p.m. with the Rev. Lewis Herrick officiating. The body will be at the Stebbins 
funeral home until time of the services.

Interment will be in Sunny Hill cemetery in Bushnell township.
