HOPKINS, ALLEN M.:
   THE IONIA SENTINEL STANDARD, MI, Monday, 3-7-1927, front page:  "A. M.
Hopkins Dead After Fall on Ice - Allen M. Hopkins, of Easton township, who
slipped on the ice two months ago Sunday, died at the farm home Sunday evening
at 9 o'clock.  Mr. Hopkins had been in poor health for a number of years. The
attending physician is of the opinion that Mr. Hopkins suffered a light stroke
the morning that he fell.
   Mr. Hopkins was born in Bloomer township, Montcalm county, but had resided on
the same farm in Easton township for 36 years.  At the time of his death he was
69 years of age.
   He is survived by his widow and four children, Arthur Hopkins, Howard
Hopkins, and Mrs. Freemont Utter, of Ionia, and Mrs. Wesley C. Snyder, of Grand
Rapids.  One brother, Bert Hopkins, resides at Vermontville.  He also leaves 17
grandchildren.
   The funeral service will be held from the residence at 1:45, and from the
Evangelical church at 2:30 on Wednesday afternoon.  Rev. W. F. Boettcher will
officiate.  Burial will be made in the family lot at the Oak Hill cemetery."

   IONIA DAILY SENTINEL STANDARD, MI, Thursday, 3-10-1927, page 3:  "City and
Country - The funeral service for Allen M. Hopkins was largely attended from the
residence in Easton township Wednesday afternoon at 1:45 and from the
Evangelical church at 2:30.  Rev. W. F. Boettcher officiated at the service and
the music was furnished by Miss Ethelyn Vermilyea and Helen Gates with Mrs. Orin
Schmidt at the piano.  The bearers were Wesley Snyder, Arbie Green, Arthur
Hopkins, and Freemont Utter.  Burial was in the family lot at the Oak Hill
cemetery."
