Ionia Sentinel Standard, 21 Jul 1916

Mrs. Catherine Hoppes, wife of Tony Hoppes of Portland, died Wednesday night at 
the City hospital here, only a day or two after her admission.  She was the 
sister of Mrs. Ralph Gilchrist of South Ionia.  The body was taken to Portland 
this noon and the funeral will be held tomorrow morning.  Mrs. Hoppes leaves two 
daughters and six sons, besides her husband.
