Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 4 May 1959

Mrs. Mary Hoppes, 71, of route two, Portland, was found dead about 4 o’clock
Monday morning by her son John, with whom she lived.  Coroner Dale Kauffman said
death was due to natural causes and Mrs. Hoppes had died about 3:30 a.m.

She is survived only by her son, John.

The body was removed to the Neller Funeral Home at Portland.

[Transcriber’s note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that she was
buried in Portland Cemetery.]
