Hoppes, 75, of route 3, Portland died at his home Sunday morning. He had been a resident of Danby township 52 years and a life long farmer. Corner Richard Hull of Muir was called to investigate when the regular family physician was not available. He was a member of St. Patricks church of Portland, Dads club, and VFW Post 409. Surviving besides his wife, Pauline, are four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Keusch of Portland, Mrs. Reva Bell of Lyons, Mrs. Eleanore Lynch of Lansing and Mrs. Marilyn Muirhead of San Antonio, Texas; three sons, Stanley F., Leon H., and Bernard, Jr. of Portland; 46 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two brothers Albert and John of Portland; one sister Mrs. Christina Fedewa of Portland. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 0 a.m. at St. Patricks church of Portland. Rosary will be Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock at Neller funeral home. Burial will be in Danby cemetery.
