Hoppes, 69, of Lyons, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 after suffering a stroke and having Crohns Disease. Mr. Hoppes was a carpenter for Builders Lumber for 20 years and could fix anything he set his mind to. He married Alfreda V. Loomis on June 4, 1955 and together they shared 49 years of marriage. Surviving are his wife, Alfreda; children, Vicki (Michael) Kemp, Randy (Carol) Hoppes, Bonnie (Dan) McGraw, Steve (Penny) Hoppes, Karen (Steve) Denis; grandchildren, John Hale, Cheyenne Hale, Stacey Hoppes, Nicholas Hoppes, Wesley Hoppes, Jennifer Ramos, Jessica Ramos, Christina Ramos, Marty Hoppes, and Mark Hoppes; great-grandchild, Asa Randall; sisters, Doris Beard and Marlene Tanner.; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted by the Rev. John Prominski, Pastor of Resurrection Life Church of Ionia, at 2 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2004 at Keefer Cemetery. There will be no funeral home visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Renucci House of the Spectrum Butterworth Campus, in memory of Charles G. Hoppes.
