David Guy Hoppough, age 60 of Ionia, passed away Dec. 19, 2015 in Ionia.  He was
born Dec. 30, 1954 in Ionia, the son of George and Marilyn (Chapin) Hoppough.

Dave married Gwen Reisbig July of 2002.  He loved NASCAR and all types of
racing.  He idolized Dale Earnhardt and Dale Ernheart Jr.  He was a former stock
car driver, #47H.  Dave had millions of best friends and was nicknamed the
Eggman.  He especially loved and lived for his grandchildren.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Gwen Hoppough, of Ionia; devoted
stepchildren, Robert “Jim” (Amy) Reisbig of Ionia and Gwendolyn “Wendy” (Martin)
Bohn of Texas; brothers, George Hoppough Jr. of Ionia and Jim “Charlie” (Sandy)
Hoppough of Arizona; sisters, Karen Hoppough and Dick Read of Ionia and Sharon
Hoppough of Ionia; two precious grandchildren, Emmily “Henry” Reisbig and Gracie
“Pete” Reisbig; and several nieces/nephews and great-nieces/nephews.  He was
preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Luncheon to remember and celebrate Dave’s life is being held from 1
to 3 p.m., Saturday Dec. 26, at the Ionia Moose Lodge.  Come and tell us your
favorite story of Dave.  Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home of Ionia.
