He was born October 2, 1917 in Orleans Twp. the son of Guy and Maude (Comstock) Hoppough. He married his first wife Ethel M. Nelson April 30, 1939 who preceded him in death March 25, 1981. He married Carol Ann Terwieeliger December 27, 1986. Floyd owned and operated a gas station, garage & grocery store for 15 years until selling the business in 1965. He then joined partnership in Saranac Hardware with Heath Dyk & Warren Chadwick until retiring in1979. Floyd was a long time member of Ionia County Farm Bureau and a life member of Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Saranac Village Board for 15 years, Boston Twp. Board for 8 years, and a former member of Saranac and Clarksville Lions Clubs. Floyd is survived by his loving wife Carol Hoppough of Florida; son, Floyd Lee and Margaret Hoppough of Standale; step son Randy and Barb Cook of Florida; daughter, Judy Kay Hoppough-Smith of Wyoming; step daughter, LaVonne and Grant Daggat of Saranac; sister Dorothy Robinson of Greenville; 5 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 11 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ethel; daughters, Marcia L and Frances Ray, brothers, Marvin, George, Raymond, Frank; sisters, Lylia and Irene. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, September 6, 2006 at Saranac Community Church with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment Orleans Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Monday 5-8 PM and Tuesday 5-8 PM at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.
