He had been in failing health for several years but only confined to his bed for a week. Mr. Hopwood was born in England August 26, 1863, and came to this country at the age of three years. He was a carpenter by trade and came to this city from the northern part of the state about 50 years when he was married to Mrs. Sarah L. Howe. She preceded him in death several years ago and he was later married to Mrs. Cora Kimberly who survives him. There are also nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:30 at Fitzjohn Funeral Home and the sermon was given by Rev. Lester Clough, pastor of the Central Methodist church of which Mr. Hopwood was a member. Interment was in River Ridge cemetery. Acting pallbearers were Frank Conant, Ronald Parks, Byron Moore, Charles Hollenbeck, Merton Chapman and Arthur James.
