Hornig, whose maiden name was Curtis, was born in Columbia, O., April 29, 1841, and died in Lake Odessa, June 29, 1898, aged 57 years, and 2 months. Mrs. Hornig came to Michigan when a child and has resided in this state ever since, most of the time in Berlin township, this county. Four years ago she came to Lake Odessa, where she lived until her death. She was married to Christopher Hornig, February 13, 1858, and was the mother of eight children – daughters; five of whom live to mourn the loss of a loving mother. Two of the daughters reside in Lake Odessa: Miss Nellie Hornig and Mrs. Charles Tew with whom she lived at the time of her death. Her husband died a little over two years ago. Mrs. Hornig was converted when 11 years of age and was faithful to her Savior unto death. She was a member of the Methodist church, a regular attendant upon the services of the church and a sincere, devoted Christian. Her friends are comforted by the thought that she has entered into eternal life. “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? “Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/h/hornig2658nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
