Ionia Sentinel Standard, 15 Apr 1967

Mrs. Inez Mae Horrocks, 88, of 1042 Yeomans, Ionia, passed away at the Ionia
county Memorial Hospital Friday morning.  She had been a patient at the hospital
for the past 10 days.  Born in Easton township, December 12, 1878, she was the
daughter of Fred and Dora Gould.  She was a life-long resident of Ionia county
and attended school at Grove school in Easton township and Ionia high school. 
After completing school she worked at Sorossis Garment company of Ionia.

On May 15, 1901 she was married to Samuel Horrocks at her parents’ home in
Easton township.  Her husband Samuel passed away April 7, 1932 and she worked as
a practical nurse from that time until 1950.

She was a member of the Lincoln Avenue Baptist church in Ionia.  One son, Deo
and one daughter Mrs. Carrie Hanline survive.  Two brothers Glenn of Ionia and
George of Greenville and one sister Mrs. Alta Snell of Ionia also survive. 
There are seven grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at Boynton funeral home April 17 at 1 pm the Rev.
Clifford Owens of the Lincoln Avenue Baptist church, officiating.  Interment
will be in Easton cemetery.
