Farmer of Easton Dies On Friday

John David Horrocks, 56, died early Friday morning at his residence in Easton 
township following several months illness.

He was born September 5, 1899 in Montcalm county the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred 
Horrocks. In 1920 he was married to Bernice Gee at Ionia and two years later he 
located in Easton township where he had operated one of Ionia county's largest 
certified berry and nursery farms.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice; two sons, Jerald of Muir and Jack of route 
3, Ionia; four grandchildren; his father, Fred Horrocks and one sister, Mrs. 
Monroe MacPherson, Sr. of route 3. One daughter, Geraldine, died in 1933.

Mr. Horrocks will be brought to his residence Saturday morning and will remain 
there until Monday at 10:30 a.m. when he will be taken to the Stone-Kauffman 
funeral home where services will be held at 2:30. Interment will be at Easton 
cemetery.

Family requests that flowers be omitted and contributions be placed in the 
cancer fund.
