Carroll M. Horton, 82, of Clarksville, died at Grand Rapids Metropolitan
Hospital Dec. 9.  Born July 3, 1904, in Wexford, he was the son of Henry and
Mary Horton of Dunham.  He was graduated from high school from Rome, Ohio.  He
married Lillian Bollard in July, 1936.  She died Dec. 26, 1978.  Horton was
employed as a draftsman at the Bethlehem Steel Company in Baltimore, Md.,
retiring in 1969.  He moved to Clarksville in 1971 and became a member of the
Lions Club.

Surviving are two sons, William Horton of Grand Ledge, and Larry Horton of Grand
Rapids; three grandchildren; two brothers, Glen Cabool of Missouri, and Nelson
Horton of Traverse City, Mich.; and one sister, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Bertek of
Interlochen, Mich.  Preceding him in death was one brother, Clarence, and one
sister, Grace Adams.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Koops Funeral Chapel in
Clarksville, the Rev. Arthur Ruder officiating.  Burial will be at the
Clarksville Cemetery.  A memorial has been established for the Clarksville
summer recreation, and care of the funeral chapel.  The family will be at the
funeral home Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from noon until the time
of the service.
