Aug. 13, 1936 RAYMOND L. HORTON Funeral services were attended Thursday morning at 9 o'clock at the Michigan soldiers' home chapel at Grand Rapids for Raymond L. Horton, 59, who died Tuesday at Hines Veterans' hospital in Chicago. Burial was at the Soldiers' Home cemetery. Ray Horton was born in Ionia and left here for Grand Rapids where he went to work for the Pere Marquette railroad. He was a veteran of four campaigns, serving with Co. I, 34th Michigan Volunteers the Ionia company , in the Spanish-American war, later in the Philippines, on the Mexican border and with Canadian troops in the World War. He was a member of Guy V. Henry camp United Spanish war veterans and of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Orene Horton, and a son, Frank W. Horton of Detroit.
