He was born Nov. 2, 1916, in Merritt, the son of Jacob and Jennie Mae Hose. Henry proudly served his country in World War II and the Korean Conflict as a master sergeant in the United States Air Force. In 1949 he graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor of science degree in agricultural engineering. Henry later worked 21 years as a loan officer with the USDA Farmers Home Administration and was chief of business and industry with the Farmers Home Administration in Lansing. During the 1980's he was a realtor with Westdale. Henry was a member of the American Legion Post Hugo Fales 203 in Belding, the V.F.W. 7913 of Cedar Springs and a member of the 505 Bombers Squadron. On May 18, 1951, in Roswell, N.M., he married Margaret Elnora Powell. She survives along with their children, Josephine and Daniel Hendrix of Traverse City, Cheryl and Michael Loper, Julie Finkbeiner and fiancé Robert Squires, Patrick Henry and Laurie Hose, all of Belding. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one brother, Vernon Hose of Farwell. Henry was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Robert Paul Hose, July 5, 1961 and eight of his nine brothers. Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Burial will be in River Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Cystic Fibrosis.
